First new signing: Bolzano brings in a striker from Merano.

After several departures and some confirmations, HC Bozen has made its first transfer for the new season. A talented player from Merano is joining the team.

Daniel Gellon will play for HC Bern next season. The 25-year-old is thus embarking on his first adventure in the ICE Hockey League, after having played five seasons in the Alps Hockey League for Merano, the last three of which he was a key player.

Gellon is an agile forward with a keen eye for goal – qualities that enabled him to lead the Eagles to the AlpsHL finals last season. With 18 goals and 26 assists, the South Tyrolean was the Black and Whites' top scorer and the highest-scoring Italian player in the entire league, excluding naturalized Italian players. Gellon also played a key role in the playoffs, recording 19 points in as many games (9 goals, 10 assists).

That's what Gellon says

“After many wonderful years in Merano, I felt it was time for a new challenge. When the call came from Bolzano, I didn't have to think twice,” the forward explained. “The ICEHL is an important and demanding league, and I'm very happy to be able to take this step. Wearing the white and red jersey is a great honor. We're talking about a club with a rich history and big ambitions, and for me, this is an excellent opportunity. I want to work hard, integrate well into the team, and continue to develop so I can contribute and help Bolzano achieve great success.”
