Frycklund leaves HC Pustertal after three years

HC Pustertal is letting one of its key players go. Mikael Frycklund will not receive a new contract.

A success story has come to an end: HC Pustertal and Mikael Frycklund are parting ways. As the Wolves announced on social media on Tuesday afternoon, the Italian-Swedish player has not been offered a new contract for the 2026/27 season.

"We wish Michele all the best for the future. Thank you for your dedication and passion for our colors," read a post on Instagram. "Oamo Puschtra, olbm Puschtra!"

Three successful years in Bruneck

Frycklund was a reliable player during his three years in Bruneck: In 165 games for HCP, the 33-year-old contributed 39 goals and 56 assists. He also played a major role in the Wolves' run to the ICE Hockey League finals last season, scoring eight goals and 17 assists in 48 games.

The center's next destination is not yet known. Before his time with HC Pustertal, Frycklund played for Västerås in Sweden's second-highest league – Hockey Allsvenskans.
