Niklas Sundblad is moving to Germany.

The fired Bozen coach has a new home

Niklas Sundblad's involvement with HC Bozen was only short-lived. Now the Swede has found a new club.

HC Bozen is back on track for the playoffs. But when fans look back at the start of the season, some people still have an uneasy feeling. The first weeks of the new season were a show of mishaps, so coach Niklas Sundblad had to pack his bags just a month after taking office.

However, the Swede has now found a new task. The 51-year-old is returning to Germany - although not to the DEL, where he already worked for Ingolstadt, Cologne and Schwenningen, but to the DEL2. He is supposed to get the relegation-threatened Dresden Ice Lions back on track.

“I was in a situation like this before at Örebro in Sweden,” explained Sundblad during his presentation. “A relegation from the first league would have cost the club several million. There was pressure and we did it.”
