Big news: HC Pustertal has a new name

There is big news from HC Pustertal: When the Wolves start their fifth season in the ICE Hockey League in September, they will do so under a new name.

As the HCP announced on Tuesday evening, the hotel group "Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences" will be the new main sponsor – and thus one of the most successful companies in the Pustertal Valley. As a result, the Wolves will play under the name HC Falkensteiner Pustertal onto the ice.

Falkensteiner and Pustertal – wasn't there something? Exactly! For four years, the Wolves' president, Erich Falkensteiner, has been the chairman of the supervisory board of the new main sponsor. "With the new naming partnership, HC Pustertal and Falkensteiner are opening a shared chapter. Both stand for consistency, quality, and passion – values that make this cooperation an important step for the club and its future," says the president.

In recent years, the Wolves have lacked a main sponsor, but now the ice hockey club has signed a three-season contract with the renowned company. "We have many long-standing and loyal sponsors in the Pustertal Valley who are passionate about supporting us. We are, of course, particularly pleased that we now have a main sponsor in Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences. This partnership opens up new opportunities that were previously far from our reach," says Pustertal Valley Managing Director Jochen Schenk.

Tourism and sport combined

Otmar Michaeler, Managing Director of the Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group, said of the deal: "When Jochen Schenk and I first discussed a possible collaboration, it quickly became clear to me: tourism and sports belong together. Both move people, create emotions, and connect people – across borders. What I'm also excited about is the passion for ice hockey shared by my two partners, Erich and Andreas Falkensteiner, which I experience firsthand every week."

Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group AG (FMTG) is one of the leading privately owned tourism companies in seven European countries. It comprises five business units: FMTG Services, comprising Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences with currently 27 four- and five-star hotels and three apartment complexes; FMTG Camping, currently comprising two Falkensteiner premium campsites; FMTG Development; FMTG Invest; and the 360° tourism consultancy Michaeler & Partner.
