HC Bozen: A reaction and a playoff ticket are needed.

The ICE Hockey League resumes on Wednesday. HC Bozen plays away, HC Pustertal at home.

HC Bozen's performance in Vienna on Sunday was one to forget. The 0-3 defeat was the logical consequence. It was the first time this season that the Foxes failed to score a single goal. Now they need to bounce back. On Wednesday, the Red and Whites will be guests of the Black Wings Linz at 7:15 p.m., who are currently still fighting for a spot in the pre-playoffs.

“After the game against Vienna, we focused primarily on how to approach such important matches better,” said Luca Frigo before departing for Linz. In Linz, HCB can mathematically secure their playoff spot with a win (or a slip-up by the Vienna Capitals). It's already confirmed that goalie Sam Harvey (who is ill) will not play, with Christopher Gibson starting in goal. Cole Schneider (also ill) is also a doubt.

Meanwhile, HC Pustertal has a home game blockbuster on the schedule. The Wolves – currently in 5th place in the standings – will host the third-placed Graz99ers at 7:45 p.m. "We have to play Wolves hockey tonight," said assistant coach Kohl Schultz. "Solid defense, converting our chances on offense: that's the motto," Schultz added. The Graz99ers can secure their playoff spot in Bruneck; they need just one point to do so.

HC Pustertal is certainly in good form. The Wolves have won five of their last six games. In the first three encounters with Graz, the Styrians clearly dominated twice (4-0, 4-1). HCP won once (4-1).
