Eddie Pasquale is simply unbeatable at the moment. The HC Falkensteiner Pustertal goalie is currently on an incredible run in the playoffs of 268 minutes and 9 seconds A clean sheet – the best record by a wide margin. He was the celebrated hero on Thursday after the another 3-0 victory.
Particularly impressive: In all three semi-final games against Olimpija Ljubljana, the Canadian kept a clean sheet and recorded a shutout each time. But Pasquale had already demonstrated his exceptional talent in the quarter-final against Salzburg: In the fourth game, he was only beaten once – in the 18th minute by Peter Schneider. Since then, his goal has seemed impenetrable to opponents.

In the three semifinal games, Pasquale stopped a total of 73 shots (22, 24, 27) and didn't allow a single goal. Adding up his current streak, he's now gone almost four and a half games without conceding a goal – an absolutely exceptional record in playoff hockey.
That's never happened before on the ICE train.
A look at the competition shows how dominant Pasquale currently is: Sebastian Dahm (KAC) follows in second place for the longest playoff series with 164 minutes and 3 seconds from 2024. Behind him are Atte Tolvanen (Salzburg, 160:47 minutes) and Matthew Zaba (Vienna Capitals, 153:38 minutes). This means it's already certain: Pasquale has set a new record. And the streak could get even longer – because in the next game on Sunday against Ljubljana (starting at 18 p.m. at [location missing]). SportNews(Ticker) the Pustertal goalkeeper has the chance to further extend his historic record. At the same time, he can then magically lead his team to their fourth victory and thus into the final early.
