ICE kick-off is set: Top duels for the South Tyrolean teams

The new ICE Hockey League season begins in just under two months, on September 12. HCB Südtirol Alperia and HC Pustertal now know their opening opponents.

First of all: The new ICE Hockey League season kicks off with some exciting games for the two South Tyrolean teams. However, HC Bozen will "only" be in action for the opening game on Friday (September 12). When the second matchday takes place two days later, on Sunday, HCB will have no games. The reason: A total of 2 teams will compete in the ICE in 2025/26, which means that one team must have a game off every matchday.

The Foxes' opening match is a tough one, though. Right from the start, they face a repeat of last season's semifinal clash. The Bolzano team opens the season at home against Salzburg. A cracker for the Red and Whites, but also an important first assessment of their position in the new season.

Pustertal begins with Tyrolean derby

Another top clash will take place on Friday evening in Innsbruck. The home team hosts HC Pustertal. Tyrolean derbies between North and South Tyrolean teams always have their own special appeal. Unlike HCB Innsbruck, the Wolves will also be in action the following Sunday (September 14). In the first home game of the new ICE season, the Graz 99ers will be guests in Bruneck.
