Now it's official: The championship-winning coach is staying in Graz

Dan Lacroix will remain head coach of the Graz99ers. The 57-year-old Canadian, along with his assistant Nate DiCasmirro and goaltending coach Andreas Eriksson, extended his contract with the ice hockey champions for another season.

Lacroix took over the Graz team in mid-November and led them to the first title in the club's history. "This is another great day for the Graz99ers that Dan Lacroix has decided to continue on the path he has started," said sporting director Philipp Pinter.

After winning the championship, Lacroix was a hot commodity on the European ice hockey transfer market, with the Berlin Polar Bears among those reportedly interested. Ultimately, however, the father of former Puster Valley player Cedric Lacroix opted to extend his contract in Graz.
