“Can’t wait”: Harvey joins ICE Club

HCB Südtirol Alperia only announced the departure of their long-time goalie Samuel Harvey on Sunday. Just a few hours later, the 28-year-old Canadian's new club was announced.

Samuel Harvey transferred within the ICE Hockey League and joined the HC Innsbruck The Sharks finished last in the regular season standings and are now looking to completely revamp their roster. After Brady Shaw, Joel Messner, and Kevin Macierzynski, Harvey is the next top signing for HCI, whose team looks set to be a formidable force next season.


“My family and I are incredibly excited to become part of the organization and begin this new chapter. We’ve heard so many great things about the team, the city, and the passionate fans, and we’re looking forward to becoming part of the Sharks community. I can’t wait to work with my teammates and celebrate many successes together with our fans,” Harvey explained his move on the club’s website.

Innsbruck head coach Ryan Kinasewich is also looking forward to Harvey, who was only bid farewell by HC Bozen on Sunday: “We are incredibly happy and proud to have such a strong backbone for HC Innsbruck in Sam Harvey. Sam impresses not only with his performances on the ice, but also with his professionalism, his commitment and his positive attitude within the team. A goalie like him gives the entire team security and confidence.”
