After the cancellation in Klagenfurt: Quarter-final series postponed

The ICE Hockey League has reacted to the dramatic situation surrounding KAC player Jordan Murray and made adjustments to the quarter-final series between Klagenfurt and Féhérvar.

Jordan Murray collapsed during the opening game in Klagenfurt on Tuesday evening and had to be resuscitated on site. Meanwhile, the club has issued a slightly more positive health update.

In a statement, the league emphasized that its thoughts are with Murray and his family during this difficult time. Clubs, players, and staff stand united behind the Canadian. The clear principle remains: "Health over Hockey" – health takes precedence over everything else.

Playoff series will be shortened

Due to the current situation, the originally planned quarter-final matches on March 12 in Székesfehérvár and on March 14 in Klagenfurt will not take place as planned.

As a preliminary measure, the league is also planning an adjustment to the playoff format: The series between KAC and Fehérvár will be played in a shortened format instead of the usual best-of-seven format.

As things stand, the first game of the series could take place in Klagenfurt on Monday, March 16. Further details regarding the schedule will be released once the scheduling is finalized. The league also emphasized that this plan is still under review and may change depending on further developments and in consultation with both clubs.
