Playoffs or vacation: Pustertal is fighting for its season
While the postseason doesn't start for HC Bozen for another week, there's already a playoff atmosphere in Bruneck this Sunday: HC Pustertal will be fighting for nothing less than their season against Olimpija Ljubljana from 18 p.m.

It's been a real roller coaster ride for HC Pustertal this season. The phenomenal start with six wins in a row made many a fan dream, but by the end of the regular season, reality caught up with the Wolves. 8th place in the table means that it was not enough for a direct playoff place. But - and this is the good news for the Puster fans: the train hasn't left yet. In the pre-playoffs there is still a chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
In a best-of-3 series, Raphael Andergassen & Co. play against HK Olimpija Ljubljana for the much-coveted ticket to the postseason. The Wolves have the home advantage on their side, meaning: If the series lasts three games, then Pustertal will compete at home in the all-important duel.
The first match of the series will also take place at home. On Sunday from 18 p.m. it will be really loud in the Intercable Arena. In the statistics, the opponent is ahead: of the four duels, three went to Ljubljana and the Wolves won once. But with the (pre)playoffs a new championship begins.

The Wolves have recently boosted their self-confidence and achieved a 3-2 triumph against Red Bull Salzburg. “It will be fun,” says Pustertal’s Rick Schofield, looking forward to the pre-playoff against Ljubljana. Tickets can still be purchased at the box office on Sunday evening.
