Pustertal's ex-coach Valtonen already has a new job

On January 2nd, Tomek Valtonen quit HC Pustertal for family reasons, and less than four weeks later the coach from Finland started a new job.

While HC Pustertal is currently continuing its sporting ups and downs under Valtonen's former assistant coach and closest confidant, Kasper Vuorinen, the former head coach will only be looking at the Wolves' performance with limited interest from this Monday at the latest. Valtonen has found a new challenge.

The 44-year-old Finn, who worked in Brunico for a total of 13 months, was introduced as the new head coach by HK Dukla Michalovce. The Slovaks are clearly on course for the playoffs in fourth place in the domestic extra league, but due to their recent fluctuating performance, they decided to change coaches.

Valtonen was obviously the first choice, and this is probably the current ideal solution for the Scandinavian himself. He had already worked as a Dukla trainer for a year and a half before his recent mixed engagement with the HCP and immediately after leaving South Tyrol he returned to the small Slovakian town near the border with Ukraine with his partner and his youngest children.
