Rick Schofield's new employer is known

It had been clear for some time that Rick Schofield would not play a second season at HC Pustertal. However, no one knew where the veteran would end up. That changed on Wednesday evening.

Rick Schofield is a new player for Düsseldorfer EG. SportNews had from Interest of the DEL club reported several weeks ago, now the transfer is official. According to reports, the 37-year-old has signed a one-year contract in Düsseldorf.

It is Schofield's second DEL stop after he played for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in 2022/23. Last season, the Canadian was one of the Wolves' best strikers with 48 points in 44 games and played a major role in them reaching the semifinals of the ICE Hockey League for the first time.

Düsseldorf is looking forward to Schofield

"Schofield is an experienced center forward who can be on the ice in all situations," emphasizes DEG sports director Niki Mondt. "In addition to his leadership qualities and versatility, he is also a very good face-off player. I am convinced that we will also benefit from his personality on and off the ice and I look forward to seeing him play in our jersey next season."
