Juicy punishment for Pustertal's whirlwind

As if the defeat in Ljubljana wasn't bitter enough for HC Pustertal, the Wolves now have to do without their whirlwind.

Dante Hannoun has developed into a constant at HC Pustertal in recent years. This year, Alex Petan's cousin already has 26 points. Now Hannoun has to watch two games: he was taken out of play by the sports judge.

In the match against Ljubljana, the 1,68 meter tall whirlwind took on Maris Bicevskis, who was a head taller. The two cracks fought each other and finally the Olimpija professional ended up on his back on the ground. For the sports court “DOPS” this was a slew-footing offense.

Suspension and fine

According to the rule book, a player commits this offense "if he kicks an opponent's foot or skate from behind in a dangerous manner or pulls an opponent back while at the same time kicking or hitting him in the feet from behind." Because the risk of injury is significant (for example uncontrolled impact on the ice), strict action is taken here.

Hannoun has now been suspended for two games and will have to watch at home against Linz on Friday and away against Asiago on Sunday. The Italian-Canadian also received a fine of 400 euros.
