Stefan Spinell goes back to Switzerland

Stefan Spinell's interlude at HC Pustertal ends after just one year. The Rittner is returning to Switzerland.

As the Wolves confirmed on their social media channels on Wednesday, Spinell is moving to EHC Thun in the third Swiss league. The now 23-year-old had already played four games on loan for the club from the canton of Bern in the 2020/21 season. Spinel scored two goals.

Spinell made 46 appearances for HC Pustertal in the last ICE season. With two goals and two assists, the attacker couldn't quite live up to expectations. Spinell moved to Brunico last summer at the request of ex-coach Stefan Mair. But this quickly became history in the city of Rienz.

Spinell spent a large part of his ice hockey career in Switzerland. The 186 cm tall left-handed shooter initially went through the Davos youth department, then made the jump to EHC Visp, for which he played 138 games in three seasons in the second-tier Swiss League and recorded 22 scorer points.
