As far as players are concerned, the last – and most important – piece of the puzzle that HC Bozen is still missing for the upcoming ICE Hockey League season is the goalie. For weeks, wild rumors have been swirling around this position, which can mean the difference between success and failure in a season. The secret should finally be revealed soon.
Louis Domingue was long considered the top favorite for the goaltending position. That would be a real coup, considering the 34-year-old Canadian boasts 151 NHL games under his belt. As recently as January 2025, Domingue was still playing for the New York Rangers, and last season he was between the pipes for Sibir Novosibirsk in the KHL, among other teams.

But in recent days, events have unfolded rapidly. There was a sudden change of course at Bolzano's Galvani Street, with a Scandinavian goalkeeper suddenly appearing in the favor of sporting director Dieter Knoll. However, this didn't last long. As has now leaked, Domingue is reportedly back in contention. A final decision between the two goalkeepers is expected within the next few hours.
Who will be the coach?
Besides the goalkeeper question, HCB also faces another, no less important decision. The Foxes are still without a coach. Club boss Dieter Knoll doesn't have much time left in this matter, especially since training is scheduled to begin on August 13th.Edit Profile
