Aosta's defensive bulwark leaves Hechte desperate

SV Kaltern lost the second game of the best-of-7 series in the final of the Italian Hockey League (IHL). As in the first game, the Pikes were unable to break HC Aosta's defense.

The Oltradige team took 59 shots in the first two final matches, scoring just one goal. Due to this insufficient shooting efficiency, the regular season winners are now down 0-2 in the series. On Tuesday evening, Florian Wieser & Co. lost 750-0 in front of 2 fans in Aosta. The series now moves back to Kaltern, where the third match will take place on Thursday at 20.30:XNUMX p.m.

After a balanced, goalless first period, top scorer Nick Nardella opened the scoring in the 26th minute. Although the Pikes had five power plays in the 60 minutes, Oskari Siiki and his teammates were unable to score. Even when Samuel Rohregger left the ice to make way for an extra skater, goaltender Alessandro Tura was unstoppable. With 43 seconds left, Christian Buono sealed the game with an empty-net goal.
