The HC Eppan is currently going through turbulent times both in terms of sport and off the ice. Almost a week ago it was announced that Crystopher Collins had been banned for a long time by the sports court ( the Pirates have filed an appeal) and to top it all off, the sporting results are currently lacking. In the Master Round, the Überetsch team is still winless and has conceded a mere 30 goals in five matches.
On Saturday evening, the Pirates were beaten 0:9 in Aosta. The game was already as good as over after the first third, when the home team was already leading 5:0. Aosta proved particularly effective in the power play: they scored five goals during a power play situation.
Kaltern rushes from victory to victory
The SV Kaltern has meanwhile also won its fifth game of the Master Round. At home, the Sharks beat Varese 3-2 and thus defended first place. Things got really exciting in the final minutes of the game: after the home team had a comfortable 3-0 lead, the Lombards reduced the score to 2-3 with just two minutes to go. However, the league leaders played the rest of the game confidently. After three victories in a row, the qualifying round for the 3 Zinnen Dolomites at home against Valdifiemme, a 2:5 defeat. The Pusterer took the lead after just four minutes through Mykhailo Krasnozhon, but in the middle period the guests pulled away to 1:3. After Valdifiemme had made it 4:1 in the 57th minute, Nazar Ruzhnikov reduced the deficit to 2:4 just one minute later. An empty-net goal practically at the same time as the final whistle finally made the score 2:5 from the 3 Zinnen Dolomites' point of view.
