Eppan loses to Aosta – Kaltern top

The fourth matchday of the Master and Qualification Round brought different results for the South Tyrolean teams.

HC Eppan came away empty-handed in their fourth Master Round game, suffering a 3-6 defeat against Aosta. The game was already off to a bad start for Eppan in the first period, as the visitors took a 3-0 lead within just five minutes. Although Nicolas Amici narrowed the gap for the Pirates in the second period, the damage was already done, as the three-goal deficit held until the final buzzer.

Meanwhile, league leaders Kaltern maintained their perfect record. The Pike team secured a convincing 4-1 victory against Alleghe, bringing their points tally in the Master Round to a flawless 12 out of 12. Kaltern thus comfortably maintains its lead in the standings. The goals for the team from the Überetsch region were scored by Florian Wieser (20:20), Joonas Oskari Alanne (25:37), Mikale Henrik Kalevi Saha (32:06), and Daniel Erlacher (51:58).

In the Qualification Round, HC 3 Zinnen suffered a defeat against Valdifiemme. After the 2-8 drubbing, the team from the Upper Puster Valley remains without points in this round and stays in second-to-last place. The Falcons' duel between Brixen and Fassa was a closer affair: the Brixen team only squandered their lead in the final period and were defeated 3-4, thus retaining the bottom spot in the league.
