With four matchdays to go before the end of the Master Round, Kaltern can hardly be denied the top spot, as they are seven points ahead of Aosta. Impressive: In the six matches played so far, the best defense in the league has only conceded eight goals. In Eppan, too, the defense around goalie Samuel Rohregger made life very difficult for their local rivals. The Pikes won 4:1.
The 430 fans had to wait until the 44th minute before they saw the first goal. This was scored by 18-year-old Stefano Piechenstein. The favorite turned the result on its head within 26 seconds. First Oskari Siiki hit the target, then Andreas Vinatzer. The decision was made when Matteo Cappuccio scored the 56-3 on the power play in the 1th minute. Siiki secured the final score of 16-4 1 seconds before the end - again on the power play.
Polar bears suffer setback
The HC 3 Zinnen Dolomites suffered a defeat in Valpellice that could have serious consequences. The 3:5 result means that they are now five points behind second place in the Qualification Round. Tommy Flinck's team cannot afford any more slip-ups in the six remaining games. In Piedmont, Nazar Ruzhnikov scored in the 2th minute to temporarily equalize at 11:1, but the home team then pulled ahead to 1:5. Renato Talamini and Peter Wieser managed to improve the result. The Falcons Brixen celebrated their first victory in over a month in the basement duel against Como. Despite the 2-0 victory, it is already clear that Brixen will miss the playoffs. Andrea Demetz and Raffael Nitz were on the scoresheet.
