Kaltern remains flawless – Brixen misses a chance

Kaltern remains the team to beat in the Master Round, while Eppan and HC 3 Zinnen suffered further setbacks. The evening was particularly bitter for Brixen, who were soundly defeated in their direct battle for a playoff spot.

The Pike had already secured first place in the Master Round, but the Kaltern team still showed their strength in the penultimate match of the intermediate round. However, a tough test awaited the Überetsch team on Thursday evening in the form of Alleghe, who were challenged for much of the game. A brace from Florian Wieser ultimately decided the match: his goal secured a 3-2 victory for Kaltern, giving them another win in the Master Round, where they remain firmly in first place.

The evening was considerably less enjoyable for the Pirates from Eppan. They suffered a clear 2-5 defeat in their match against Aosta. This marked the third consecutive loss for the team from Überetsch in the Master Round.

Brixen and Toblach fail

HC 3 Zinnen suffered a similar fate in the Qualification Round. The Ice Bears couldn't manage more than a 2-5 defeat against Valdifiemme, thus also suffering their third consecutive loss.

While Toblach no longer has a chance of making the playoffs, Brixen faced a must-win situation in their direct match against Fassa on Thursday evening to keep their qualification hopes alive. However, Fassa decisively dashed those hopes. The Brixen team suffered a crushing 0-8 defeat and had to make the journey home – their playoff hopes are now likely over.
