Kaltern marches into the semi-finals – Eppan convinces

In the quarter-finals of the IHL playoffs, SV Kaltern qualified for the next round on Thursday evening, while Eppan also showed that it is ready for the semi-finals.

6:2 in the first meeting, 6:1 on Tuesday and 4:1 on Thursday evening: The Kalterer Hechte literally overran their opponent Valdifiemme in the quarterfinals of the IHL playoffs. The opponent from Cavalese saw no land against the Überetscher throughout the entire best-of-5 series and had to return home in defeat - while the Hechte celebrated their first stage goal, reaching the semi-finals.

In this third game too, Kaltern left little doubt about progressing. The first goal belonged to top performer Sakari Teemu Virtala, who had his team celebrating after just a few minutes. It continued with his brother Marko, who made it 2-0 after the third break. Although Valdifiemme then made it 1:2 with a goal from Jonas Schmid, Franz Erschbaumer and Matteo Cappuccio made everything clear within a few minutes with 3:1 and 4:1.

Eppan follows up

Things were and are tighter in Eppan. The Pirates traveled to Alleghe on Thursday with the series tied at 1-1 and were looking to improve on Tuesday's 9-4 win. However, anyone who expected a similar peat festival was disappointed. The third quarter-final game between the two teams was much closer and Matthias Pardatscher's Pirates were 1-0 on the scoreboard for a long time.

It remained extremely close before Erno Räisänen and Martin Graf tied the game with 2-0 and 3-0 shortly before the end. The Eppan team is now 2-1 in the series and can reach the semi-finals next Tuesday.
