In Switzerland, Germany and Sweden

Several Italian players who are of interest to the national team, either because they participated in the last World Cup, because they were recently nominated, or because they could be called up in the near future, earn their money outside of the country. Among them are some South Tyroleans, as the following overview clearly shows. Six players from Switzerland are under contract in the Swiss National League. One of them is Diego Kostner The 33-year-old Val Gardena native, who has been playing in Switzerland for almost 20 years, recently began his tenth season with HC Ambri Piotta. The first two rounds of the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL) have been completed. This weekend marks the start of the season in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL), Italian Hockey League (IHL), and IHL Division I. The new season has also already begun in most of Europe's top leagues.
