Against a bad boy: Julius Ramoser's wild fight

Julius Ramoser has earned a lot of respect with this boxing match: The youngster challenged a true bad boy to a fight in a DEL match.

Julius Ramoser is considered one of the most talented South Tyrolean ice hockey players. The 23-year-old is playing his second season in the DEL with the Grizzlys Wolfsburg. The forward from Ritten recently scored his first goal in Germany's top league, and now he's faced his first fight.

The aforementioned scene occurred in the final period of the home game against the Eisbären Berlin. Young Ramoser challenged veteran and heavyweight Yannick Veilleux (32) to a boxing match. Veilleux is considered a bad boy in the DEL, having already been suspended for six games this season for a brutal check. Despite this, Ramoser showed he wasn't afraid – and engaged in a fierce fight with the Eisbären star.

In the end, the referees separated the two brawlers; there was no winner. Although, to challenge such a heavyweight as a youngster takes courage. "I'm not afraid of anyone," Ramoser told the press afterwards. Braunschweiger Zeitung. He has likely earned a good deal of respect in the Grizzlys' locker room as a result.
