On Wednesday, the wait is finally over: The men's ice hockey tournament kicks off at 4:40 p.m. with the game between reigning Olympic champions Finland and Slovakia. Four and a half hours later, host nation Italy faces Sweden. In the following interview, Italy's assistant coach Stefan Mair looks ahead to the opening game and the tournament.

The anticipation is immense, the task enormous: Italy's ice hockey team is about to kick off its Olympic campaign against the very best.
