Carolina Hurricans are the first quarterfinalist

Last night (CEST) the first decision was made in the first round of the NHL playoffs: In a completely crazy game, the Carolina Hurricanes knocked out the New Jersey Devils.

The Carolina Hurricanes were the first team to qualify for the second round, but they needed a win against New Jersey Devils but a nerve-wracking feat that helped to secure a 5-4 victory in the second overtime.


At the Lenovo Center, Sebastian Aho, who scored a brace and won the game, became the celebrated match winner, leading his Cans to the quarterfinals.



The Ottawa Senators averted the end of the season for the second time in a row and won Game 5 at the Toronto Maple Leafs by a clear 4-0 score. Senas goalkeeper Linus Ullmark celebrated his first playoff shutout with 27 saves.

Golden Knights and Oilers overturn their series

The Vegas Golden Knights have extended their lead in the series with a 3-2 home win after extra time against the Minnesota Wild Brett Howden became a hero for Vegas in overtime.

The Edmonton Oilers have also played the third game in their series against the Los Angeles Kings They won 3-1 in front of their home fans. In a physical game (59 checks to 46 in favor of LA), the Oilers posed more threat (46 shots to 22), turned the game around, and suddenly led the best-of-seven series 3-2.
