The Detroit Red Wings are getting closer to their goal

Austrian Marco Kasper and his Detroit Red Wings secured an important 3-0 victory against the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Sunday.

Thanks to the victory, Kasper, who went scoreless, and his Detroit teammates are in third place in the Atlantic Division, one point ahead of the Montreal Canadiens, who hold the first wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. For the eleven-time Stanley Cup champions, their first playoff appearance since 2016 is now within reach.

Meanwhile, the top matchup in the Eastern Conference and the Atlantic Division exceeded all expectations. The Buffalo Sabres celebrated their seventh consecutive victory with an 8-7 win against Tampa Bay, taking over the top spot in the standings from Tampa. Buffalo led 3-0 and 4-1 before Tampa Bay seemingly turned the game around with five consecutive goals. The Florida team even led 7-5. However, in the final nine minutes, the Buffalo Sabres rallied from a 5-7 deficit to win 8-7.
