The Philadelphia Flyers swept the Colorado Avalanche aside with a decisive 7-3 victory. Owen Tippett was the standout player, recording a hat trick and an assist, his second four-point game of the season. Matvei Michkov also contributed two goals. The Avalanche, previously one of the league's top teams, found no answer to Philadelphia's offensive onslaught – despite an early lead and solid scoring chances. A statement game for the Flyers in the East.
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-4. Cody Glass delivered an impressive three-point performance (2 goals, 1 assist), and Lenni Hameenaho scored his first NHL goal. The Devils continue their upward trend with their third consecutive win and five wins in their last six games. The Canucks, on the other hand, continue to slide down the standings and struggle to find a consistent rhythm.
Celebrini shines
The San Jose Sharks defeated the New York Rangers 3-1, with Macklin Celebrini scoring two goals. The top prospect was once again the match-winner, bringing his season tally to 26 goals – an impressive tally for a 19-year-old. Celebrini has amassed 74 points overall, placing him third in the NHL scoring race. San Jose controlled the game from the outset and established an early lead. For the Rangers, the loss represents another frustrating defeat in their ongoing downward spiral. The Washington Capitals ended their four-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames. Aliaksei Protas scored the game-winner, while Alex Ovechkin sealed the win with an empty-net goal. The Caps showed a strong response after some inconsistent performances and somewhat stabilized their fight for crucial points in the Eastern Conference.
