Austria has a new ice hockey player of the year. NHL star Marco Kasper has won the award this year.

Marco Kasper has been voted Austria's Ice Hockey Player of the Year for the second time, following his first win in 2022. The 21-year-old, who plays for the Detroit Red Wings, won the expert vote with 78 points, ahead of Zurich's Vinzenz Rohrer (52) and Marco Rossi (38), who also plays in the NHL for Vancouver.
In fourth place was Theresa Schafzahl, the first female team player who plays in North America's women's league PWHL.
