Finale beckons: The “oil men” in a frenzy

The Edmonton Oilers won the fifth NHL semi-final game against the Dallas Stars 3-1 away and are now leading the series (best-of-7) with 3-2 wins for the first time.

The decisive factor for the success was, on the one hand, the power play and, on the other hand, Oilers goalkeeper Stuart Skinner, who defused 19 shots and was only defeated once in the 55th minute.

Man of the evening was Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who scored two goals in the power play. The 3-0 with Philip Broberg's first play-off goal (26th) was the preliminary decision. Dallas tried to get back into the game with a physical presence (21:16 checks), but the game was decided long ago. Wyatt Johnston (55th) could only make cosmetic results.

A look at the scorers in the play-offs is breathtaking. Four Edmonton aces are ahead. Connor McDavid leads with 29 points, ahead of Leon Draisaitl (27), Evan Bouchard (25) and Nugent-Hopkins (20). Florida can move into the NHL final on Sunday night. The Panthers lead the series against the New York Rangers 3-2.
