And this despite the fact that their German forward Tim Stützle was able to extend his personal streaks: The 24-year-old from Viersen scored on the power play from the Draisaitl position, extended his goal streak to four, his points streak to six games (5-4-9) and is in outstanding Olympic form.
Stützle was responsible for the goal that brought the score to 2-3 in the second period. The left-handed shooter positioned himself near Draisaitl in the right faceoff circle, received a pass from Jake Sanderson, and unleashed a laser-like shot on a one-timer that found the back of the net (37th minute).

For Ottawa's number 18, it was his 27th goal and 60th point of the season. Stützle is now only the sixth player in Senators franchise history to reach the 60-point mark in four consecutive seasons. Before him, only Daniel Alfredsson (nine seasons from 2000/01 to 2009/10), Erik Karlsson (five seasons from 2013/14 to 2017/18), Dany Heatley (four from 2005/06 to 2008/09), Jason Spezza (four from 2005/06 to 2008/09), and Marian Hossa (four from 2000/01 to 2003/04) have achieved this feat.
"I just play my game," Stützle said in an interview with TSN during the second intermission. "Sometimes I keep it simple; if there's a play I make, I play it, and of course my linemates played great."
Stützle logged 18:29 minutes of ice time on the first line alongside Drake Batherson and Claude Giroux, recorded three shots on goal, blocked one shot, and won 50 percent of his faceoffs. The national team player is in excellent form just before the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics.
