The ice hockey tournament will be one of the biggest attractions at the Winter Olympics. For the first time since 2014, stars from the National Hockey League (NHL), the best league in the world, will be competing for the title. Fans can look forward to seeing the best ice hockey players on the planet. Team Canada has now announced its roster for the Winter Games – and it's packed with superstars.
The best player in the world – Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers – leads the Canadian roster. Alongside him are the crème de la crème, including Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche), who currently leads the NHL scoring race with McDavid. Also on the roster is Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins), one of the greatest players of all time.

Youthful energy is also guaranteed: 19-year-old Macklin Celebrini (San Jose Sharks) is the biggest talent the NHL currently has to offer. He's currently the league's third-highest scorer. And with Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche), the NHL's best offensive defenseman is also on board. However, Team Canada's roster did hold one surprise: 20-year-old Connor Bedard, the number one overall pick of 2023, was not selected.
Canada will face the Czech Republic (February 12), Switzerland (February 13) and France (February 15) in Group A.
