Kane celebrates career milestone

The Detroit Red Wings have won again in the NHL against Washington after four defeats.

In the 4:2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Sunday (local time), Patrick Kane contributed a goal and an assist, reaching the 1.300-point mark in the North American ice hockey league. Of all the active players, only Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin and Yevgeni Malkin have collected more points. Marco Kasper played 10:35 minutes of ice time, but did not score a point.

Ovechkin scored in the game himself, making it 1-2 for the Capitals in the first half. The Russian has now scored 20 goals in his first 17 games, his 870th goal in the NHL. He is now only 24 fewer than legend Wayne Gretzky, who leads this statistic.

The Minnesota Wild suffered a defeat. In the home game against the Ottawa Senators, the team with Vorarlberg's Marco Rossi had to admit defeat 1:3. Rossi was on the ice for 22:26 minutes.

Draisaitl struggles

The Edmonton Oilers have suffered another defeat. The team of German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl lost 3:5 to the Anaheim Ducks. The day before, they suffered a narrow 3:4 defeat after overtime to the Los Angeles Kings. Draisaitl scored two goals and thus maintained his streak. The Cologne native has scored in eleven games in a row.

"That was certainly not our best game," said Draisaitl. "We let up a bit after the first 10 to 13 minutes and gave them the chance to get back into the game." The Oilers are third in the Pacific Division with 21 wins from 36 games.
