Marco Rossi scores again

The 23-year-old had previously held Rossi to two goals and three assists in the five games so far this season. The third goal came in the sixth game, in which Minnesota successfully held its ground against the host Florida Panthers, Stanley Cup winners and thus NHL champions.

With his goal, Rossi scored five consecutive games for the first time in his NHL career. The Wild's scoring marks the first time in 16 years that the team has scored points in all of the first six games of the season. Minnesota has never trailed before this season, and this time it did so again. The Minnesota Wild is only the second team in the NHL to do so in the first six games of the season.

The Bruins record is shaking The record is held by the Boston Bruins (with seven) from 1969. Striker Rossi was the first to score in the first period (11:40). He was followed by teammates Marcus Johansson 22 seconds later and Matt Boldy at the beginning of the second period, before “Panther” Sam Bennett scored the only opposing goal. Mats Zuccarello and Joel Eriksson completed the 5:1 victory for Minnesota Wild in the second period.

The Ottawa Senators, on the other hand, recorded a 4-0 away win against the Utah Hockey Club. The visitors scored all four goals within eight minutes of the first quarter. For the first time since 2021, the Sens won an away game without conceding a goal.

Edmonton squanders lead Things are still not going well for the Edmonton Oilers in the East. At home, they suffered a 2:3 defeat after overtime against the Carolina Hurricanes, meaning last year's finalists suffered their fifth defeat in seven games of the season. The Oilers lost the game despite going into the third period with a 2:0 lead. Connor McDavid scored both goals for Edmonton.
