Minnesota remains a power abroad

Minnesota Wild continued their upward trend after the best start to the season in club history. The Detroit Red Wings, on the other hand, suffered a setback.

Marco Rossi contributed a goal and an assist to Minnesota Wild's next victory in the North American ice hockey league NHL. In the 5-2 away win against the Anaheim Ducks, the 23-year-old from Vorarlberg scored the goal to make it 4-1 (55th minute) and set up Kirill Kaprisow's power play goal to make it 5-1 (58th minute).

In Anaheim, Jake Middleton (8th), Marcus Foligno (10th) and Kaprisow (12th) gave Minnesota an early lead. After Robby Fabbri made it 1-3 (43rd), Rossi scored his fourth goal of the season.

After 14 games, the center now has 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists). His strike partner Kaprisow recorded two goals and one assist and took the lead in the NHL points standings with 27 points (9 goals, 18 assists).

Minnesota's upward trend continues

Minnesota celebrated its fifth win in the last six games and is already the second best team in the league behind the Winnipeg Jets after the best start to the season in the club's history. Coach John Hynes' team has picked up 15 out of a possible 18 points in away stadiums and is the best away team.

Marco Kasper from Carinthia lost 1:3 with the Detroit Red Wings at the Toronto Maple Leafs. This was Detroit's second defeat after two recent victories. Toronto veteran John Tavares shot the hosts to victory with two goals (32nd, 59th).
