Just one more win: Carolina on the verge of NHL triumph

The Carolina Hurricanes need just one more win to win the Stanley Cup.

Coach Rod Brind'Amour's team won Thursday's home game against the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2, taking a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven NHL Finals series. Twenty years after their first triumph, the Hurricanes can clinch the title on Sunday in Las Vegas. Game seven would be played in Raleigh in front of their home fans.

The visitors took a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute, but then the Hurricanes took over the scoring. Jordan Staal (12th minute), two power-play goals from Andrei Svechnikov (32nd and 52nd minutes), and Sebastian Aho (38th minute) sparked jubilation. Pavel Dorofeyev's second goal (54th minute) for the Golden Knights brought some excitement to the final minutes, but it wasn't enough to turn the game around.
