Marco Rossi is only the fourth Austrian to score over 100 points in the North American National Hockey League (NHL). Only Thomas Vanek (789), Michael Grabner (276), and Michael Raffl (179) have reached this milestone before him.
Rossi added two assists in his Minnesota Wild's 8-7 overtime win over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night, bringing his NHL scoring total to 101 points. He has already collected 60 points (24 goals, 36 assists) this season.
Heading towards the playoffs
Apart from the 23-year-old from Vorarlberg, only Vanek has scored 60 points or more in an NHL season – but he's done it six times. Rossi also had reason to celebrate, as the Minnesota Wild took the next step toward the playoffs with the overtime win.
