Oilers in crisis: alarm mood in Edmonton

The Edmonton Oilers are in crisis in the North American professional ice hockey league NHL. The Oilers clearly lost 3-6 against the Calgary Flames in their own stadium on Saturday evening, thus suffering their third defeat in a row.

Due to the recent negative run, the Oilers are in danger of carelessly squandering their hard-fought comeback towards the playoff places after a completely botched start to the season. However, the Canadians are still on track with 68 points.

Things went much better for the Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings celebrated a clear 6-1 home win against the St. Louis Blues. Detroit overran the overwhelmed guests, especially in the first third, and the score was 20-4 after the first 0 minutes.

The victory of the Ottawa Senators was not quite as clear, but all the more surprising. In the 4:3 win after a penalty shootout against the Vegas Golden Knights, the German Tim Stützle was the only player able to convert his attempt in the shootout and thus secured victory for his team. The San Jose Sharks suffered an expected defeat. The second-worst team in the league in terms of points lost 2-4 to the Nashville Predators.
