Overtime again: Vegas also wins the second game

The Vegas Golden Knights still have their sights set on their second trip to the Stanley Cup Finals of the North American professional ice hockey league NHL.

On Sunday evening (local time), Vegas won at home against the Dallas Stars 3-2 after overtime and is now leading 2-0 in the Western Conference finals series. Four wins are needed to advance. The third game takes place on Tuesday (local time) in Dallas.

Chandler Stephenson scored the winning goal for Las Vegas 72 seconds into overtime. The Golden Knights had prevailed against the Edmonton Oilers in the previous round. Dallas, in turn, ended the Seattle Kraken's title hopes.

The team from Nevada had already reached the final series for the Stanley Cup five years ago - in the very first season of their existence. At that time, Las Vegas lost to the Washington Capitals. This year the Florida Panthers or the Carolina Hurricanes would be waiting in the finals. The Panthers have a 2-0 lead before the third game on Monday evening (local time).
