Zibanejad shines in Rangers' Winter Classic victory

Mika Zibanejad made history in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Friday. The 32-year-old became the first player to score three goals in a Winter Classic game.

The Swede not only shone as a goal scorer (16th/PP, 21st, 59th/SH/EN) in the sold-out home arena of the Miami Marlins baseball team during his New York Rangers' 5-1 victory against the Florida Panthers in front of 36.153 spectators, but also provided two assists.

The Vancouver Canucks had no success, losing 3-4 in a shootout to the Seattle Kraken without Austrian Marco Rossi, who is sidelined with a left foot injury. The 24-year-old from Vorarlberg last played in the 3-6 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on December 30th, blocking a shot and sustaining an injury that is currently keeping him out of action.
