Overtime | Who else but him?

The rising star Nicolò Remolato (HC Bozen) The HC Bozen fans eagerly awaited the performances of their stars at the Foxes' season opener: What impression would defensive stalwart Teemu Kivihalme make? How was forward Isaac Ratcliffe's form? And would goaltender Louis Domingue live up to the high expectations? The answers to all these questions were positive, as Bozen secured two victories against the Vienna Capitals (3-2) and Red Bull Salzburg (6-3). The star of the show, however, belonged not to the visiting players, but to 21-year-old Nicolò Remolato. The true Bolzano native has three goals after these two games – making him HCB's top scorer. Yet Remolato isn't exactly known for his scoring prowess. The right-handed shot has only found the net 23 times in 145 AlpsHL games. There's a reason for this: last season with Cortina, he was primarily deployed as a center. This meant more defensive duties, less freedom, and fewer opportunities to showcase his speed. Antti Karhula, however, uses him as a winger, where he truly thrives alongside the hard-working Luca Frigo and Bryce Misley. In all of his goals so far, Remolato has recognized open space, positioned himself perfectly, and finished his chances with clinical precision. He currently has three goals from five attempts, which equates to a 60 percent shooting percentage. Clearly, this pace cannot and will not continue, but Remolato has already created memories for a lifetime – and incidentally proven what young locals can achieve when they are given trust. The relegated one The new ICEHL and AlpsHL websites Continuous product development is essential if you don't want to fall behind the competition. Those who neglect constant improvement stagnate. Following this motto, the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL) completely revamped its website this summer. However, this commendable project backfired: the new design leaves much to be desired, to say the least. Clicking on the game details opens up a veritable information jungle. Where fans and journalists used to see goals, penalties, shots, and the roster at a glance, several clicks are now required to extract the desired data. Meanwhile, the ice time statistics for each individual player, which were (finally) introduced last year, are still not available in real time. While the ICEHL homepage at least has a functioning Gamecenter with all the results, AlpsHL fans have to jump from one page to another because the results bar disappears as soon as a game is clicked. Furthermore, the time information has been removed from these bars. One thing is certain: while these changes are disadvantageous, the season is still young, so hopefully adjustments will be made soon.
