Scudetto winners: Eagles leave nothing to chance

The Eagles South Tyrol have won the Scudetto in the IHL Women. In Bolzano, the South Tyrolean team celebrated a clear victory in the final second leg against the Trentino Women, thus securing the championship title.

The Eagles Südtirol are the Scudetto champions of the IHL Women. In Bolzano's Sparkasse Arena, the South Tyrolean team decisively won the second leg of the final series against the Trentino Women 5-0, securing the title after their 5-2 victory in the first leg. Since the final was a best-of-two series with aggregate goal differential, the Eagles left no doubt as to who deserved the championship crown this year, finishing with an aggregate score of 10-2.

Playing in front of their home crowd, the Eagles got off to a furious start, establishing a clear lead in the first period. Giorgia Todesco put the hosts ahead 1-0 after 3:38 minutes, and Jacqueline Malca Pierri increased the lead to 2-0 in the 12th minute. Shortly after, Sara Kaneppele added another goal, before Eleonora Bonafini made it 4-0 at 13:39. Trentino struggled to find an answer to the relentless and consistent play of the South Tyrolean team and thus fell definitively behind in the series.

The Eagles maintained complete control of the game throughout. Defensively, the South Tyrolean team conceded very little, while offensively they repeatedly created clear scoring opportunities. Annalisa Giuliani sealed the victory in the 30th minute with the goal for a 5-0 final score. With this win, the Eagles crowned a strong final series and celebrated their championship title in front of their home crowd in Bolzano.
