South Tyrolean ice hockey teams dominate the young talent - overview

U20 The cooperation team from Vipiteno and Val Gardena has snatched the championship title for the under-18s. In the purely South Tyrolean final against Ritten there were two clear victories (8:1 and 8:3). The Vipiteno and Val Gardena lifted the trophy on March 22nd in the Ritten Arena after their second win in the best-of-three series. Asiago took third place with a confident 9-0 win in the “small final” against Meran, while Pustertal secured fifth place with a 5-0 win at the green table.

U18 The championship title in the U18 category was awarded at the Final Four in Vipiteno. Cortina (2:1 against Pustertal) and Asiago (4:3 against Ritten) reached the final. There the Ampezzans ultimately had the upper hand with 8:3. Third place went to the Pustertal team, who beat Ritten 3-1.

U16 The under-16 season also culminated in a Final Four. This was held in Neumarkt. In the first semi-final, SC Auer/Neumarkt defeated Sterzing 5:4, while HC Pustertal secured their second final ticket with a 6:2 win against Asiago. In the all-South Tyrolean final, Auer narrowly prevailed with 4:3. The bronze medal went to the young players from Vipiteno.

U14 The last game of the season for the U14 class took place in the Scola Stadium in Canazei. On Saturday, Kaltern, Fassa, Val Gardena and Ritten each competed against each other once. The teams with the best points, Ritten and Val Gardena, determined the Italian champions the following day: the little “Buam” won the cup with a 4-1 win. In the game for third place, Fassa lost 0-3 to Kaltern.
