Auer gilds his dream season

Sunday featured another full football program. Auer was one of the shining winners, but not the only one.

For the first time in its 106-year history, Auer was promoted to the Landesliga (regional league) last Sunday. Now, the team from the Unterland region has also crowned its season with a victory in Naturns: In the clash of the two 1st Amateur League champions, Andrea Gasparini and his teammates prevailed 3-0 against Latzfons Verdings.

Auer had won the title in the A-district, while Latzfons Verdings had won in the B-district. On Sunday, the two clubs faced off for the overall title. Johannes Gruber put Auer ahead after just three minutes, and then the top scorer entered the fray: Andrea Gasparini, the top scorer in the 1st Amateur League Group A with 22 goals, scored twice to make it 3-0.

This is how the decisive matches went

Two relegation play-off matches also took place this Sunday. Gossensass and Jergina Amateure finished second-to-last in the 2nd Amateur League, Group B, so a play-off was necessary to determine which team would be relegated. Gossensass won this match 2-1. Limani Guxim (35th minute) and Matthias Chimetto (75th minute) scored the goals, while Theo Brugger's consolation goal for Jergina (79th minute) came too late.

Montan and Feldthurns also faced each other on Sunday: Both finished third in their respective districts of the 2nd Amateur League. Andy Meraner ultimately secured a 1-0 victory for Feldthurns on neutral ground in Kaltern. However, his team will only be promoted if an additional spot opens up in the 1st Amateur League, meaning if a team withdraws.
