An old acquaintance hits the heart of Tramin

The seventh round of Oberliga matches featured many goals and plenty of spectacle. However, one player's performance overshadowed everything.

Arnaldo Kaptina has left his mark in Tramin. Between 2013 and 2016, the Albanian played for the Unterland club, developing into one of the country's best midfielders. Kaptina is now captain of Virtus Bozen – and showed no mercy in Sunday's clash with his former club. The 32-year-old was the standout performer in the 3-1 victory.

Arnaldo Kaptina (the younger brother of Virtus player-coach Elis Kaptina) scored a hat trick on this golden autumn Sunday—a rare feat for a midfielder. Tramin couldn't offer much resistance, even though the Unterland side managed to reduce the deficit to 1-2 shortly after the restart with a penalty from Alex Pfitscher.

This victory was extremely important for Virtus Bozen, as it brought the Talferstadt team level with Tramin in the standings. Virtus is tied with the Unterland team and Union Trento in third place, three points behind leaders Rovereto and one point behind second-placed Bozen FC.

St. Georgen has tasted blood

St. Georgen also celebrated a victory: The Pustertal team beat struggling Partschins 3-0. Jergina, who had a disastrous start to the league season, celebrated their second consecutive victory and are climbing further up the table. Meanwhile, Partschins are in trouble: The Lower Vinschgau team, last year's surprise team, are bottom of the league.

The duel between Brixen and St. Pauls was also a high-stakes affair: Both teams are stuck at the bottom of the table. On Sunday, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Pecoraro saving his team with a late penalty (78'). Michael Cia had already put Brixen in the lead after just six minutes.

Bozen FC and Mori had a wild match, ending in a 3-3 draw. Ahrntal (0-2 against Levico) and Val Gardena (2-3 against Union Trento) suffered defeats.
