Playoffs: Montan tries in vain

The last matches of the play-offs in the 2nd Amateur League took place on Wednesday. Steinhaus and Mühlwald won their respective groups.

In the group of three for a potential promotion, Montan played against Kastelbell Tschars on Wednesday evening. The Lower Vinschgers, who won their first match 1-0 against Steinhaus, had it in their own hands to win this group of three. But Montan showed much better after the 1-4 defeat against Steinhaus and also served up Kastelbell Tschars 4-1. The goals were scored by Michele Danieli (3rd), Fabian Psenner twice (27th and 57th) and Julian Augustin (73rd). Amofah Willy (19th) scored for Kastelbell Tschars. In the promotion group, Kastelbell Tschars, Montan and Steinhaus (wins with the best goal difference) now all have three points.

After Neumarkt had given up a 4-1 lead against Mölten Vöran on Saturday (the game ended 5-5), the Unterlandler took revenge on Mühlwald on Wednesday. The Eisacktaler were 4-25 up after goals from Philip Oberhollenzer (2th) and Simon Oberhuber (0th), but Neumarkt came back with two goals from Ennio Davide Vasellini (33rd) and Mubin Misimi (64th) and achieved a 2-2 draw. Mühlwald thus emerged as winners of this group with 4 points.

As a reminder: The play-offs were played to ensure that a team could still be promoted or stay in the league if it did not register or if two clubs merged. The three second-placed teams played for promotion and the three ninth-placed teams played against relegation.

Wednesday's results

Montan – Kastelbell Tschars 4:1
