The ball is rolling again in the Oberliga

Since the beginning of January, the local footballers have been eagerly preparing for the start of the second half of the season and the 2025 football year. This weekend it's that time again and Stegen and Partschins are officially returning to league life.

The ball is finally rolling again on South Tyrol's football pitches. The Oberliga starts with the catch-up game between Stegen and Partschins. The match between the two teams was actually supposed to take place on November 24th, but it was cancelled due to weather conditions.

Partschins is one of the big surprises of this year's Oberliga championship. After 14 matches, the Vinschger team is in an excellent second place in the table and has already won eight times. Most recently, in the last game of the first half of the season on December 1st, they won 3-0 at home against Comano. The Lomi team impresses not only with its offensive quality but also with its strong defense. Goalkeeper Andreas Nischler has only had to reach behind him eleven times so far.

The situation is completely different for Stegen. The Pusterer are in last place with just six points and are nine points behind the saving 13th place. In the winter, however, Stegen made some adjustments. Peter Untergelsbacher is a new coach on the sidelines, who will be assisted by Peter Bacher in the future. There are also two new players in the squad, Moussa Souare (who once played in Inter's Primavera) and Moussafa Diop. Both have recently played in Serie D and the Oberliga.
