No Saturday games: Amateur football plans to reorganise

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Sport and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) announced that no football matches would take place on Saturday. The reason: Pope Francis's funeral will be held in Rome. This also affects domestic amateur football, which has now been forced to reschedule.

The president of the South Tyrolean regional association, Klaus Schuster, was also surprised on Tuesday that no games were allowed to take place on Saturday. One day later, the association responded with a circular and published the replacement dates for the canceled games on Saturday.

The three regional league matches (Gitschberg Jochtal vs. Val Gardena, Schenna vs. Lana, and Tscherms Marling vs. Bruneck) will all be moved to Friday at 16.30:XNUMX p.m., as that day is a national holiday in Italy, making this a convenient date.

Most of the canceled matches in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Amateur Leagues will also be moved forward to Friday at 16.30:XNUMX p.m. In the youth categories, however, many matches have been postponed until the middle of next week. Here there is an overview of all dates.
