SSV Brixen had cruised through the first four matchdays in the Landesliga without dropping a single point. Now, however, the team under new coach Alex Schraffl has suffered its first setback. Despite taking the lead through Dennis Nagler (40th minute), the relegated Oberliga side couldn't manage to secure any points against Gröden.
For the home side – also relegated from the regional top league – Jan Martin Vinatzer became the match-winner. Having returned from Switzerland, he played in Brixen and delivered a late blow to his former club with a penalty in the 85th minute. In the league table, Val Gardena drew level with Brixen at the top.
Tscherms Marling shoots down newly promoted Latzfons
Newly promoted Latzfons Verdings suffered a heavy defeat in Marling. Raphael Schötzer (45th/77th minute) and Manuel Scavelli (42nd/52nd minute) each scored a brace.
Tscherms Marling celebrated a resounding victory.
At the bottom of the table, Salurn was on the verge of securing their first point of the season. But in the 86th minute, their hopes were dashed like a soap bubble when Argentinian Ignacio Beltritti headed in the opening goal for the Eisack Valley side – and that's how it stayed. Salurn thus missed another opportunity to draw level with Olimpia Meran (who suffered a 2-0 defeat in Terlan on Saturday).State League: Saturday's results
