Regional League | Salurn defeats Leifers
On Friday evening, the Lower Rhine derby between Salurn and Voran Leifers took place in the regional league. The hosts prevailed 3-2.

Salurn's start to the second half of the season was far from ideal. A disastrous performance saw South Tyrol's southernmost team suffer a 0-3 defeat against Freienfeld, who are in serious danger of relegation. Consequently, the pressure was immense for Fabio Bertoldi's team in their second match of the second half of the season.
The hosts, however, handled this setback superbly. Michele Panizza put Salurn ahead 1-0 after just four minutes. Only eight minutes later, Jacopo Mandaglio doubled the lead, completing a perfect start for the home side. Leifers pulled one back shortly after the restart, but Simon Baldo restored the two-goal cushion just a minute later. Kanoune's late consolation goal in stoppage time came too late. Salurn moves up to 11th place in the league table.
